Venca offered me to go to the fly fishing cup at Jestřabice Lake. I used to attend this traditional spring competition regularly, but I missed it last year, so I was looking forward to it. I especially like this lake in the spring, it is located in the south-eastern part of our country and spring always comes a few weeks earlier there.

I injured my back a week ago, but after a week of treatment it looked promising and I was hoping that a little exercise, a few squats, might help. To be honest, I didn’t cure my back, but the competition was nice. We got sixth place, we won a few rounds and didn’t lose a single one, and most importantly we beat our partners Milda and František.

We found out that fish swim just below the surface, so usage of the hover line or fast glass with booby on the point and roly-poly retrieve were my most successful methods.
