Practice before first league on Svratka river
I was asked by my friends Jája and Šeďa to fish autumnal round of first fly fishing league, and we decided to go to practice to the competition water last Saturday. It was real disaster, river is totally canalised, narrow, more over there is the inflow from the big wastewater-treatment-plant located about one kilometre upstream, so the water smells, it is a little dirty and bottom is covered my grey sludge. We caught some fish, mainly coarse fish, chub, ide, bleak, roach and perch, mainly on wets and dries, competition will be relatively fair as there are not big differences between individual beats in the 5 km long narrow channel , but the river is really disgusting and absolute inadequate to the such a prestigious competition like the Czech first fly fishing league. We will see. However, I was not driver this day, so I drank six Pilsner beers during the day, we had nice lunch and dinner, so it was relatively funny day
